Lash extensions are synthetic or mink lashes that are applied to your natural lashes to make them longer and thicker. A lash extension is attached to a single hair strand with a medical adhesive. They can be applied with a special tool or by hand, depending on the type of service you want and how much time you want to spend getting ready in the morning.
Are lash extensions damaging to eyelashes?
Lash extensions are a form of semi-permanent makeup. They are applied by gluing synthetic lashes to the natural lash, creating an illusion of longer, fuller eyelashes.
As with most anything new and different, there’s always some concern over whether or not it’s harmful to your body. Fortunately, lash extensions are actually very safe when applied correctly by a trained professional—so much so that they’re FDA approved! That being said, if done improperly or tightly enough to cause damage to your hair follicles (which is what gives you those precious lashes), then there could be some potential issues down the line. In general though: no need to worry about damage from lash extensions!
Can I wear makeup with lash extensions?
Yes, you can wear makeup with lash extensions! There are two ways to do this: applying makeup before the application process or after. Applying it before will help prevent any unnecessary damage from your lashes getting in contact with the mascara brush and potentially pulling out some of them. Applying it after is great for those who want to be able to wear their regular mascara and do not want an overlay of fake lashes on top of their real ones.
If you choose to apply makeup prior to your lash appointment, make sure that you don’t put too much on near where they’ll be applied; otherwise, they could clump together when being attached and make it harder for the technician (or yourself) while they’re doing so.
How often do I need to get lash extensions refilled?
How often your lash extensions should be refilled or refreshed depends on how quickly your natural lashes grow. If you’re someone who has a lot of hair growth, then you may need to get them refilled every 2-3 weeks. However, if you have sparse lashes, they can last up to 6 weeks without needing any maintenance at all.
Once the time comes to have them refilled, it’s important not to wait more than two days without getting them done again! This is because if there are breaks in between lash appointments (i.e., when they’ve reached the end of their lifespan), it’ll lead to gaps between each extension—and that’s where “lash dropout” happens (i.e., natural lashes falling out).
How long do lash extensions last?
Lash extensions can last anywhere from 3-6 weeks, depending on how often you get them done. If you have a busy lifestyle and your lashes need to be touched up every few weeks, this service will likely be more cost effective than lash extensions that last longer.
Let’s take a look at some factors that affect the longevity of your eyelash extensions:
The type of adhesive used in their application
How well you take care of them after the application—avoiding mascara, rubbing your eyes too hard or putting pressure on them with makeup remover pads (use a cotton ball instead) will help extend their life span
If they’re applied by someone who is experienced and follows proper protocol
Trendy hairstyles take many forms in the beauty industry.
Hair is a very personal thing. Trends in haircuts, styles and colours change often, but that doesn’t mean you have to follow them. In fact, a lot of people feel that their hair is their best feature. If you are one of these people, then you may want to consider getting a trendy hairstyle for your next salon visit.
Haircuts can be very expensive and should always be tailored to fit the person who will wear the hairstyle. There are many different types of hair—curly or straight, thick or thin—each type requiring a different technique when styling it at home or getting it done professionally. If you have fine baby-fine strands like mine (I wish), then it’s important not to overdo it when styling; otherwise your hair will break off easily!
When it comes to trendy hairstyles, the options are endless! Whether your style is more classic or modern, there is something for everyone. With so many different styles, it can be hard to choose which one is right for you. At our salon we have stylists who specialize in all different types of hair cuts and colors so no matter what kind of look you’re going for—they’ll find an expert who can help make it happen. If you like what you’ve read here but don’t know where to start—or if this article has inspired an idea in mind already—we recommend contacting us today so that we can start planning out your next appointment together!
